Our Long-Term Vision
We are passionate about bringing quality after-school music programs to the LAUSD and beyond. Our hunger to see music impact and transform the lives of students extends beyond the classroom. And these are not pie-in-the-sky daydreams: these are legitimate potential plans, dependent only upon student participation. These dreams materialize as LAUSD schools commit to PMEL’s after-school program, producing musically capable students eager to develop their abilities, showcase their talents, and step into world-class opportunities, creating memories to last and resonant community impact.
As program participation reaches the required scale,
PMEL's plan includes an annual giveaway
of up to 1,000 new digital pianos
to deserving participating students
who do not have an instrument at home for practice.
As the LAUSD program reaches sufficient participation and scale, PMEL has tremendous and ambitious community engagement plans.
Some of our long-term visions include engaging participating students and their families and friends in a series of CELEBRITY concerts.
We envision these events taking place at top local area venues, bringing together students, instructors, families and participating schools to showcase talent, progress, and how music is transforming schools and lives in Southern California.
